Charity

Charity is a core principle of Freemasonry and Tower Lodge No 5159 is no exception. Individuals can make an important contribution at local, national and global level by giving both their time and money.

Freemasonry is one of the largest charitable givers in the country, contributing £51.1m to deserving causes in 2020 alone. Freemasons do not only donate money – more than 18.5 million hours of volunteer work are undertaken by Freemasons every year.

At Tower Lodge, we are proud to be:

  • A Hall Stone Lodge
  • Grand Patron & Founding Lodge – 1956 Royal Masonic Hospital
  • Patron – Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution
  • Patron – Royal Masonic Institute for Girls & Boys
  • Founding Lodge 2003 – Metropolitan Grand Lodge
  • Holder of the Metropolitan Grand Master’s Bronze Award for the London appeal for the RMBI
  • Foundation Lodge of the MMC London Fire Brigade Appeal
  • A Vice Patron Lodge of the Metropolitan Masonic Charity

We collect Alms and have Raffles at our Festive Boards for our nominated Charities, which raises money for both the current London Masonic Charity’s latest appeal and the present Worshipful Master’s personally chosen charity.
